News and Updates

Hello, and welcome to the blog!
Quroscuro and I have some great news for you and the photography community. We are proud to announce the launch of our new product: Quroscuro Retouching Actions (QRA). We’ve put a great deal of time and effort into these actions, designed to help the retouching process and workflow go a lot smoother and faster. By clicking on the desired action on QRA, it will quickly perform all the steps required to set up the process you wish to do, therefore speeding up the tedious and repetitive parts of your editing routine. These actions will save you hours of work in the short and long term, as well as helping you achieve accurate, repeatable top-quality results and increase the quality of the finished product. These actions are very customizable. Meaning, you have the ability to change the opacities of layers, or choosing the right ratio of sharpening or frequency separation. You're in control.
I’ll quickly go over some of the actions we added in the pack
FREQUENCY SEPARATION:

Is virtually a process of decomposing of the image data into spatial frequencies, so that we can edit image details in the different frequencies independently. There can be any number of frequencies in each image, and each frequency will contain certain information. Typically, we break down the information data in our images into high and low frequencies. Grouping the colors and tones of the image into the low frequency and all the detail and textures of the image into the high frequency.
DODGE AND BURN:

Dodging and burning are terms that come from analog photography, it is a technique used during the printing process to manipulate the exposure of a selected area(s) on a photographic print, deviating from the rest of the image's exposure. Dodging – lightening, burning - darkening. With the brush tool, simply paint in white on the black layer masks to apply your dodge or burn. We have also added a Dodge and Burn Soft Light Layer action as well, including a separate action for both dodge and burn just in case you need on and not both.
HELPER:

A coupled adjustment layers to turn the photo temporarily black and white. What this helps accomplish is: it will help see the transitions of the highlights to shadows. To show if your blending and or dodge and burns are smooth and consistent. When finished with this tool, you can delete or mark it invisible in the layers window.
SELECT HIGHLIGHT/SHADOWS
What this action does is pretty self-explanatory. But its what you use it for is the real cool thing about. If you have an adjustment layer that you want to only affect the highlights or shadows, you can simply click on the action and them add the adjustment to it. Masking out what you don’t want it affecting.
SKIN TONE RETOUCH

A powerful action that sets up the ability to correct the skin tones of photographed people. Sometimes lighting can change the color of skin in the shadows, making it muddy and unpleasant. By painting over the area on a nondestructive layer, it will help bring back the natural tones it should be. The great thing is that it works on any type of skin!
OVER SATURATION:

This tool helps show what parts of the photo that might have too much saturation it. When clicking play, your picture will look a lot different; with some areas being in color and others seeming muted. What this is showing you is: the brighter colors are what the action sees as too much saturation. You can bring down those high saturation points by painting on the black layer mask, letting you take full control of what you want toned down and what to keep.
These are just some of the actions that come in the QRA pack and we are really excited to finally get to share these with you. Guaranteed to help speed up your Beauty, Fashion & Portrait retouching workflow and declutter your workspace and layers. Achieve accurate, repeatable retouching results and increase the quality of your finished product. For a limited time, QRA is on sale to celebrate its launch.
